How much does an asbestos survey cost in London?
It depends on the property size, the type of survey and access, so we quote every job individually. Quotes are free and fixed before any work starts. Call 020 8191 7650 for a quick quote.
Which survey do I need?
For a building in normal use, a management survey. Before refurbishment or demolition, a refurbishment & demolition survey of the areas affected. Buying a pre-2000 home? A domestic survey. Not sure? Call us and we'll tell you.
Is a management survey enough before building work?
No. It isn't designed to find asbestos hidden in the building fabric. You'll need a refurbishment or demolition survey of the areas being worked on.
Are you UKAS accredited?
Yes. AC&MS is a UKAS-accredited inspection body (No. 0369, ISO/IEC 17020) for surveying and a UKAS-accredited testing laboratory (No. 2742, ISO/IEC 17025) for bulk identification and air testing.
How quickly do I get results?
Samples go to our own lab rather than being sent away. We offer same or next-day results, analysis while you wait, and a 24-hour service for urgent jobs. We'll confirm the report turnaround when we quote.
How long does the survey take?
Most houses and small premises take a few hours. Larger sites are planned with you in advance.
Do homes need a survey?
The legal duty to manage doesn't apply to private homes. But if your house was built before 2000 and you're buying it or planning work, a survey tells you where asbestos is so it can be dealt with safely.
Can you just test one material, like Artex or a garage roof?
Yes. A trained surveyor takes the sample safely, makes the area good, and our UKAS lab analyses it.
Are you independent?
Yes. We've been an independent consultancy since 2003. We survey, test and advise, and we aren't tied to any removal contractor.
What are your office hours?
Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm. During office hours we usually reply to enquiries within 2 hours.
